This week, Philly Tour Hub and Home Brewed Events announced their partnership for a new beer tour called the “Philadelphia Beer Experience.” Philly Tour Hub, located at 229 Arch Street, offers several types of tours, including walking, driven, and Segway tours, that cover all aspects of Philadelphia topics and neighborhoods. A popular tour for “beer tourists” is the “Philly on Tap” tour, which Philly Tour Hub has been running for the past four years.
According to Jason Fried, Philly Tour Hub Director of Operations and Tour Guide, the success of the “Philly on Tap” tour led to a collaboration with Home Brewed Events to create a new tour – The Philadelphia Beer Experience. The tour begins with your group brewing a beer under the instruction of Meredith Rebar and Garrett Williams, known collectively as “Home Brewed Events,” in the modern space at Philly Tour Hub. After the homebrew lesson, your group will hit the streets and learn about Philadelphia’s vibrant brewing history and visit at least three famous Philadelphia beer institutions, such as McGillin’s and The Foodery. Andy Maunder, President and Tour Guide at Philly Tour Hub, explained that during the tours the guide will get a feeling for the group and based on that vibe will decide which pubs to visit, making each tour a unique experience.
The Philadelphia Beer Experience was launched at Philly Tour Hub on August 31, with Meredith and Garrett serving a homebrewed English Old Ale. Other local event vendors were also on hand to feature their specialties, including Spirit Forward, Top Hat Espresso Catering, and Cappuccio’s. Reservations for the Philadelphia Beer Experience can be made by contacting either Philly Tour Hub (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Home Brewed Events (email@example.com).
