Winners Announced for 2016 Best of the Philly Beer Scene Awards

The 5th Annual Best of the Philly Beer Scene Awards unfolded last night, May 24, at World Cafe Live. More than 400+ beer industry professionals flocked to the scene in their finest dress to catch who shined brightest in 2016 in Philadelphia beer.

Jose Pistola’s/Sancho Pistola’s co-owner Joe Gunn led the beer-loving troops through the night’s 27 awards as notable brewers, reps and Philly celebrities presented trophies to the year’s leading brewer, brewpub, brewery, bars, beers, and so many more.

In short, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company stole the show, dominating six categories including some the night’s biggest victories—best brewery and best brewer. (Yes, that’s right: Jeremy Myers has swept the ‘Best Brewer’ category for three years running. Get ready to catch him on the cover of our next issue—out June 2016.) Additional highlights included Tired Hands‘ grabbing the ‘Best Brewpub’ win and 2SP Brewing claiming victory over the ‘Best New Brewery of the Year.’
