The ever expandingIron Hill Brewery & Restaurant empire is finally coming to downtown Philadelphia. Iron Hill just officially announced that they will be opening a location at East Market, a new development currently being built at 12th and Market Street across from SEPTA’s Jefferson Station and just a block from Reading Terminal Market.
The new location, which will be their 13th location, will be 8,450 square feet and is over a year away from opening. Center City dwellers will sadly have to wait until Spring 2018 for the brewery to open. Center City has been void of a brewery since the closing of Nodding Head. As one of the preeminent beer cities in the country, it’s about time it finally has a downtown brewery.
“We’ve long wanted to join Center City’s exciting and diverse restaurant scene, but we wanted to be part of something from the ground up,” said Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant President and Founder Kevin Finn. “There has been tremendous population growth as places like East Market draw new residents to Center City. We take great pride in embracing the communities we serve, and that is especially true in Philadelphia. We look forward to opening our doors and raising a pint with our new neighbors and friends in spring 2018.”
Look for more details to emerge in the coming months. In the meantime, you can visit one of the brewery’s 12 locations currently operation.
