Late January 2017, New Liberty Distillery dropped the news they were releasing the second aged whiskey distilled in the city of Philadelphia—Pennsylvania Dutch Malt Whiskey. (The first? Red Brick Distillery’s Single Malt Whiskey released in 2016.)
Now they’re throwing a Dutch Malt Market to celebrate their brown beauty that’s making its rounds in the Philly market. The Dutch’y celebration is slated to unfold April 29, from 1–5 p.m., at Kensington-based distillery and you better believe you’ll be able to sample some of the 100% two-row, malted barley spirit neat or in a curated cocktail. Also as part of the celebration, you’ll be able to try the Kinsey lineup—rye, bourbon or the 7 Year—and Art in the Age spirits.
Even better, a pop-up market featuring some of Philly’s favorite vendors will flood the distillery’s space. Expect to catch food favorites Local 215, Side Project Jerky, Philadelphia BBQ Co. and Little Baby’s Ice Cream on site, as well as talented crafters like Meadowsweet Mercantile, Cuttalossa, Birdwatchers, Peg and Awl, Mouse Trap Vintage, Wilde Gatherings, Forge & Finish and Urban Stems.
