If you haven’t crossed the bridge to New Jersey lately, you’ve been missing out. The brewery scene just over the bridge, minutes from Philadelphia, has been growing at an incredible rate with over a dozen breweries within a 30 minute drive. One of the breweries right over the bridge, Devil’s Creek Brewery, is about to celebrate their one year anniversary, giving you the perfect excuse to finally make that trip to Jersey.
The party itself, won’t be taking place at the brewery though. They’re going above and beyond for the celebration and holding it on a battleship. That’s right, Devil’s Creek’s anniversary party will be held on the historic Battleship New Jersey.
On May 21st, you’ll be able to celebrate with them and drink beers on a piece of American history. The party runs from noon-10:00pm and all the proceeds from beer sales at the event are going to support the very ship you’ll be drinking on. Throughout the day there will be live music, food, raffles, games and more. They’ll also be unveiling their newest beer aptly named Battleship Beer.
Tickets to the event are $28.50, but with the code “BEERSCENE” you can save $3 per ticket. Tickets include entrance to the event, a commemorative anniversary glass, one free beer ticket, three raffle entries, and an anniversary t-shirt. After your first beer, there will be a cash bar throughout the course of the event. It should also be noted that this is a family friendly event, so feel free to bring out the kids. You can get your tickets here.
Later in the year, you can also look forward to the release of the winning beer from their inaugural Devil’s Advocate Homebrew Competition. On April 27th, they picked Tom Morea and Chris Smith’s Chocolate Coconut Porter. The beer will likely be brewed towards the end of the summer for a Fall release.
