This Saturday, June 17th, five restaurants, four breweries, a distillery and a bar will be taking over Newbold for their inaugural Newbold Blues Festival. The first time street festival will be taking place on Bancroft Street, right out front of one of the city’s newest breweries, Second District. The 1900 block of Bancroft Street will be shut down from noon till 5:00pm and beer, spirits, food, music and more will be center stage for the afternoon.
The neighborhood showcase will feature beers from Second District, ARS, Point Breeze, and Nodding Head. It’ll also be serving up cocktails from Manatawny Stillworks and soon-to-open cocktail bar, The Thirsty Soul. Beers at the festival will be $6 for a 16oz pour, but for those who like to plan in advance, they’re pre-selling beer tickets here and you can get them for as little as half-price. It’s hard to go wrong with $3 beers and free music.
The BBQ side of things will be handled by Second District Brewing, Chaat and Chai, Grubhouse, Mike’s BBQ, and La Mula Terca Restaurant. Food will be pay-as-you-go and the options will be aplenty. What will they be serving? Well, we have the full menu:

Chicken Kababs, Kati rolls, Lamb Kababs, and Samosas

Once the festival is over, the party will continue at Brewery ARS for the official afterparty. ARS will be tapping an exclusive beer for the event and their will be a blues performance courtesy of Phil Romeo. Still hungry? There will be desserts from local bakeries and more BBQ from Mike’s BBQ.
