Old Kensington’s, Saint Benjamin’s Brewing Company is welcoming Chef David Ansill for a special Jamaican themed pop-up restaurant experience. On July 26th, Chef Ansill will take over the kitchen to showcase his take on Jamaican cuisine classics.
The menu will include: salt fish fritters, coconut shrimp, okra & Red Stripe, jerk chicken, steamed roast fish, and curried goat. The menu will be available ala carte or as a three course pre-fixe for $50. The pre-fixe menu includes a pour of a special beer for the evening: a very limited batch of Export Stout aged in Maggie’s Farm La Revuelta Dark Rum barrels. Head brewer, Andrew Foss will be on hand tapping and pouring the beer straight from the barrel.
There will also be a special cocktail for the evening. The Dirty Banana is a new take on the traditional frozen banana, coffee and rum cocktail commonly served in Jamaica. The Saint Benjamin’s version will feature Pennsylvania spirits infused with their house barrel-aged coffee liqueur.
To round out the evening, musician Dave Sherrick will be playing the steel drums from 7:00-10:00. Dinner service will run from 5:00-11:00.
