Eulogy Closes its Doors in Old City

One of the classic beer bars of Philadelphia, Eulogy Belgian Tavern, has closed its doors for good. Owner Michael Naessans stated the closing is due to “the current epidemic drug and crime spree in Philadelphia.”

After 15 years of serving the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Naessans has found it too dangerous to keep the business open in fear of the safety of his employees. What exactly Naessans is referring to, we’re not sure but he has said he’s going to stay silent for a while and not comment further on the situation. Naessens other bar, Bierstube, closed down just a few months back. He said he has no plans as to what is going to come next and is in no rush. We can only imagine another bar will be in his future though.
