Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant continues to expand its canned beer portfolio, this time giving its popular Ore House IPA the portable treatment. As of Aug. 3, you can find the Golden IPA available in four-packs of 16 oz. cans (while supplies last) at all 12 Iron Hill locations.
Haven’t dove into this typically on-draft-only, year-round beer before? Here’s its deal: Ore House IPA weighs in at 6.5% ABV, featuring a balanced hop bitterness and citrus, plus pine aroma and flavor. The beer first joined Iron Hill’s signature series in 2014 and was the result of a company-wide collaboration project that started with each Iron Hill brewer creating their own IPA and voting on their favorite version. It is named for one of Iron Hill’s original beers, Ore House Amber.
This round’s can design is from Pittsburgh’s Smith Brothers Agency. This is actually the fifth beer in a series of collaborations between the brewery and the firm, including Rising Sun IPA, Crusher, Mahalo, Apollo! and Vienna Red Lager. Recently, Iron Hill committed to making more of their beers available to fans in cans, so you can expect even more of the brewery’s drafts taking a spin in cans very soon.
