Terrain to Host Grains, Malt & Whiskey Dinner with Deer Creek Malthouse

Want to develop a deeper appreciation for some of beer’s key ingredients—malt and grains? Lucky for you, Terrain Garden Cafe in Glen Mills is gearing up to host a malt-inspired dinner, featuring the experts of Deer Creek, Pennsylvania’s first commercial malthouse.

The event is slated to unfold on August 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and will feature a three-course, grain- and malt-inspired tasting conceptualized by James Beard-award winner Chef Jeff Michaud.

 

A preview of night’s food menu below:

First Course
Malt bagel chip with cured salmon belly, shaved red onion and crème fraiche
Smoked double dutch arancini with pulled chicken, St. Malachi cheese and mustard sauce
Duck liver mousse on a malted cracker with fresh figs

 Second Course
Malt vinegar brined pork chops with saison poached peaches and malt spaetzl
Trout with two row barley tabbouleh, local tomatoes, roasted peppers and pickled red onion

Third Course
Ice Cream Sundae — malt doughnuts with chocolate malt ice cream, malt whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce

Cost per person clocks in at $75 per person, with tickets available online. Price includes the malt-inspired 3-course meal, plus complimentary beer and whiskey education and tasting with the guys from Deer Creek.
