
Who knew Groundhog Day was such a great day for drinking. There are a couple great events set up for this absurd holiday that revolves around a rodent crawling out of a hole, so for those of you who aren't going to be watching Lost, or are willing to DVR it, tomorrow, you have options.
Groundhogs Day Hawaiian Shirt Beer Breakfast at the Grey Lodge
In a now annual tradition, The Grey Lodge in Northeast Philly, is the place to be on Groundhog Day morning. Starting at 7:00 the Lodge will be serving up a breakfast menu and an awesome selection of beers. The draft selection includes: Russian River Consecration and Temptation, Founders Breakfast Stout, Flying Fish Imperial Espresso Porter, Yards Old Bart, and a firkin of Prism Bitto Honey IPA. There will also be bottles of the much sought after and highest rated beers in the world: Founds KBS. On top of this there will be an Hawaiian t-shirt contest and all kinds of fun noisemakers to make sure the party makes you feel like you're watching the groundhog on the spot in Punxsutawney.
Groundhog Day Celebration at World Cafe Live
What better way to spend Groundhogs Day than the classic Bill Murray movie, Groundhog Day, and cheap bottles of great beers from Founders. World Cafe Live is having a free showing of the movie at 8:00 downstairs on the big screen. The fun starts at happy though with 2 for $5 bottles of Reds Rye and Dirty Bastard. Then during the movie there will be bottles of Breakfast Stout, Backwoods Bastard, Double Trouble, and Imperial Stout for $5 a piece or 1 of each for $15. There will also be games and prizes including tickets to upcoming concerts and sold out tickets to their upcoming beerfest.
