Join us for the upcoming Founders Friday at SPTR!

E-mail Print PDF
This Friday’s Founders Friday has been changed up due to the results of the series of “beer registration” raids the PLCB-funded Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement have been conducting in Philadelphia. Our friends at South Philly Tap Room had originally been expecting two extra rare sixtels straight from the Founders Brewery, but are no longer permitted to have them. Instead, there will be a slew of Founders registered brands—Pale, Reds Rye, Porter, Dirty Bastard, Breakfast Stout, Double Trouble and bottles of Triple Dancer and Imperial Stout. Pint size beers will be $3, with stronger stuff offered at $4.

Also coming up at SPTR is the Lefthand Arm Wrestling and Tap Takeover on Thursday, March 11th. SPTR and the Lefthand Brewing Company will join forces for an epic evening of phenomenal beer and southpaw arm wrestling. We will crown a male and female lefthanded arm wrestling champ, who will receive a $50 bar tab for the evening and an abundant amount of SPTR and Lefthand schwag. The games will begin at 6pm so be sure to drop by. SPTR will tap 5 Lefthand Brews at 4pm; including Chainsaw (Double Sawtooth), 400lb Monkey, Polestar Pilsner, and more. All Lefthand beer will be modestly priced at $4 full size and $2 half size.

For more information on why the PLCB should be abolished, check out Lew Bryson’s blog and Facebook Page to learn how to contact your state legislators to put an end to the backwards PA liquor laws.

E-mail Print PDF

World Cafe Live is putting on a beer dinner on St Pattys Day.  So if you don't feel like dealing with all the madness at the bars but still want to go out, this is the perfect event.  Like I've said many times before, when World Cafe Live has an event, don't miss out!  They do an amazing job!!! I've never not been extremely impressed.  Heres the details:

St. Patty's Day Beer Dinner

Lager lover, ale enthusiast, and brewmaster extraordinaire Scott Morrison hosts a St. Patty's Day beer dinner at World Cafe Live. Five terrific American-made craft-brewed Irish-style beers, paired with selections from Executive Chef Mike Breslin's own family recipes stretching back generations and utilizing the techniques taught to him while at study under Master Chefs in Ireland, will make this dinner feel like a night spent in the heart of the Irish countryside. Top the day off with a night cap of Bushmills 16 year old Irish whiskey (be careful – you know what they say: "beer before liquor"…) and traditional Irish music performed by Trolley Stop. Join us St. Patty's Day for this truly one of a kind dinner experience!
