The food will be the thing, but the beer will reign supreme when Philly Beer Scene™ Magazine and The Buck Hotel, 1200 Buck Road, Feasterville, PA team up to present one in a special series of craft beer dinners at the Bucks County restaurant on Wednesday, July 22, at 7 p.m.
“We’re partnering up with the culinary team at one of the area’s finest restaurants to showcase some of our area’s best craft beers and the brewers who produce them along with the excellent foods featured at The Buck,” states Neil Harner, editorial director of Philly Beer Scene. The new bi-monthly publication focuses on the Philadelphia region’s fast emerging craft beer scene and the fine establishments who serve them.
The July 22nd dinner will feature the craft beers of River Horse Brewing in Lambertville, NJ. A series of the Garden State brewer’s microbrews have been selected to go along with the special five-course menu created by The Buck chefs. Summer Blonde will be paired with the hors d’oeuvres course, while Double Wit will compliment the spinach salad with gouda, golden raisins, vanilla sugar toasted pecans and special ale honey dressing. River Horse’s Lager will accompany the beer battered Mediterranean calamari and the Hop Hazard Pale Ale will ride along with the chicken stuffed with wild mushrooms entrée, complete with spinach and zucchini topped with Dijon mustard pale ale sauce. The Triple Horse craft brew will be paired with the white chocolate and vanilla peach bread pudding dessert.
Additional craft beer dinners will be held on Thursday, August 20 with brews from Philadelphia Brewing Company and Wednesday, September 23 featuring the craft beers of Sierra Nevada. Both are scheduled for 7 p.m. Cost for all the dinners are $45 per person and includes tax and gratuities.
